This paper analyzes Aamir Khan’s 2007 film Taare Zameen Par as a transformative narrative on dyslexia, childhood trauma, and alternative education. It argues that the film’s emotional and pedagogical power depends heavily on when viewed by non-Hindi-speaking audiences. Focusing on the Albanian context (“titra shqip”), the paper explores how “extra quality” subtitles — culturally sensitive, synchronized, and linguistically accurate — can preserve the film’s nuances (songs, visual metaphors, teacher-student dynamics).
