The film centers around Nani, a young man madly in love with his neighbor, Bindu. A wealthy, ruthless man named Sudeep becomes obsessed with Bindu and kills Nani when he realizes his love for her.
This Hindi version came with a few notable changes. To add star power and connect with a Bollywood audience, filmmakers enlisted actors in the film's prologue. Furthermore, to give the protagonist a more familiar Bollywood-style name, the character of "Nani" was renamed "Jani" for the Hindi dub.
