High-resolution textures are the biggest memory hogs. Dropping textures from "Very High" to "High" or "Medium" significantly reduces the memory footprint without a massive loss in visual fidelity. Disable V-Sync:
Launch dgVoodooCpl.exe from the game folder as an administrator. cossacks+3+out+of+memory+work
You only need to do this once.
