Taito — Type X Batocera
Wine (Wine Is Not an Emulator) is a compatibility layer that enables Windows applications to run on Linux. Since Taito Type X games are essentially Windows programs, Wine is used to launch them within the Batocera environment. The process is not as simple as running a native Linux program, but the Batocera community has developed solutions to streamline it.
Because the Type X is x86 architecture, you aren't translating CPU instructions. You are simply tricking the game into thinking it is running on a Taito JVS I/O board. taito type x batocera
