St-244f Firmware [updated] -

The ST-244F does not have automatic reallocation. It relies on a (primary defect list) burned into the firmware at the factory and a G-list (grown defect list) stored in a reserved cylinder. If the G-list becomes corrupt—often due to power loss during a write—the drive will show "Sector not found" errors. Reloading the firmware resets the defect management system.

Note: If you are using ST-244F in a security‑sensitive environment, ensure you are on firmware v3.0.2 or later, and physically disable JTAG/SWD ports. st-244f firmware
