With a modest budget of $4 million, the film was an international co-production between Summit Entertainment (USA) and Constantin Film (Germany). Upon its release, it surprisingly grossed $9.2 million in home video sales and received a positive response from critics, making it the best-reviewed film in the entire franchise. It was followed by Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead in 2009.

In India, the Wrong Turn series gained massive popularity through satellite television and local DVD markets. The Hindi dubbing adds a layer of relatability and intensity for local viewers.

However, the challenges become terrifyingly real when they realize they are being hunted by a family of inbred cannibals. It’s a fight for survival where the cameras are rolling, but nobody is coming to save them.

The movie starts with a group of contestants arriving at a remote location, excited to participate in the reality TV show. They are soon dropped off in the middle of the city with limited supplies and cameras to capture their every move. As they try to survive and find their way back to civilization, they realize that they are being stalked by a group of cannibalistic mountain men, led by Three Finger (played by Egor Dardzhinov).

Rollins steals the show as the tough-as-nails host who fights back against the cannibals using military tactics, compound bows, and raw fists.
