Director Carlo Alvarez embeds several prominent themes into the 1-hour and 45-minute runtime:
The film's weaknesses are primarily related to its pacing. The non-linear narrative, while a clever structural choice, was criticized for featuring a "very lengthy flashback sequence that ruins the steady pacing of the film". A different review found the central mystery too contrived, stating, "the story about secret perversions could have been interesting. However, the whole scenario was made so contrived and suspicious by all the last minute things which were going on". The ending was also noted as feeling "a bit rushed". Ultimately, the film received a middling score of from one critic, while another on TMDb gave it a user score of 100 , indicating a polarized reception.
