Masha is an irrepressible three-year-old girl, whose boundless energy and curiosity often lead to chaotic but comedic situations. Despite her age, she is incredibly precocious, showing skills unusual for her age, much to the Bear's chagrin. Her character was inspired by a real little girl that the project's artistic director observed on a beach in the 1990s—an ingenuous, open, and incredibly active child who would play with anyone but quickly exhausted the adults around her.
